Day 1

On arrival in Cochin from London you will be met and transferred to the Marari Beach Hotel, Mararikulam 60 km from Cochin. Overnight.

Day 2

After breakfast drive to Alleppey. On arrival board your private houseboat known as a kettuvallam for a cruise through the famous backwaters of Kerala. Overnight on board.

Day 3

Disembark at Kumarakom – an area made famous by Arundhati Roy in her book ‘The God of Small Things’. Two nights at Coconut Lagoon, a backwater resort overlooking Vemabad Lake hidden among palm trees and approachable only by boat.

Day 4

Day at leisure.

Day 5

Drive to Thekkady. In the afternoon visit Periyar Tiger Reserve and take a boat trip on the lake.

Two nights at the Shalimar Spice Garden.

Day 6

Day at leisure

Day 7

Drive to Munnar, a hill station set amongst the stunning scenery of the Western Ghats and surrounded by tea estates. Overnight at the High Range Club in a cottage.

Day 8

Morning departure for the drive to Cochin. In the afternoon enjoy a city tour with a private guide. Sightseeing includes the Chinese fishing nets, Mattancherry Palace, the church of St. Francis and the Jewish Synagogue.

Overnight Brunton Boatyard.

Day 9

Early transfer to the airport for the flight from Cochin to Agatti in the Lakshadweep Islands. On arrival in Agatti, boat transfer to Bangaram. 5 nights at Bangaram Island Resort.

Bangaram is the only island open to foreign tourists. The teardrop-shaped island has superb beaches and beautiful lagoons. The wealth of coral formation (incl black coral) attracts a variety of tropical fish-angel, clown, butterfly, surgeon, sweetlip, snappers and groupers. There are also manta and sting rays, harmless sharks and green and hawksbill turtles. Relax with windsurfing, scuba diving, parasailing, water skiing and snorkelling.

Days 10 – 13

At leisure on Bangaram.

Day 14

Transfer by boat from Bangaram to Agatti for the return flight to Cochin.. On arrival transfer to the Brunton Boatyard for two nights.

Day 15

Day at leisure.

Day 16

Transfer to Cochin Airport in time for your return flight to the UK.
