Argentina – Waterfalls, Lakes and City : 18 days
Day 1
On arrival in Buenos Aires you will be met and transferred to Hotel de las Americas for overnight.
Day 2 Buenos Aires / Iguazú Falls
Transfer from the hotel to the domestic airport for a flight to Iguazú. Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil meet where the Iguazú River joins the Paraná River and it is here that the Iguazú Falls plunge into a wide gorge in a series of gigantic waterfalls. Hotel Cataratas for three nights.
Day 3 Iguazú Falls
Drive to the Argentine side of the Iguazú National Park and walk the paths that lead along the lush tropical basin of the Devil’s Gorge and over and under the torrents of falling water. Beautiful flowers, ferns, tropical plants, butterflies and exotic birds add to the exciting experience of close contact with nature. In the afternoon drive to the Brazilian side of the Iguazú National Park and continue on foot visiting the Iguazú River canyon with views of the various falls.
Day 4 Iguazú Falls
Full day at leisure.
Day 5 Iguazú Falls / Salta
Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your flight to Salta via Buenos Aires. The earliest settlements in Argentina were established by the Conquistadores in the North West, today the provinces of Salta and Jujuy. Eager to find safer routes to Europe for the fabulous treasures and looking for new gold and silver mines, they explored overland routes to the Atlantic and founded the first towns of Southern South America. Overnight Hotel Salta.
Days 6 and 7 Salta
2 day itinerary through the Cakcahquí Valleys. Drive Southwest out of Salta along a mountain road, which reaches a height of over 3000mt, towards Cachi a beautiful little town renowned for its weaving and crafts. Continue on to Molinos and Cafayate. Overnight.
Day 7 Salta
Walk around Cafayate – a quiet, small town surrounded by vineyards. After this the road goes through the Quebrada de las Conchas with fascinating rock formations and wild and semi-arid landscapes with many wild birds. Arrive in Salta in the late evening. Overnight Hotel Salta.
Day 8
Early departure to the Movitrack Safari to the Clouds. The special vehicle named MoviTrack offers an exciting alternative way of touring the more inaccessible regions of Argentina. The ” Safari to the Clouds ” gives you the chance to combine 3 circuits in the Northwest of Argentina in one day: first, the “Way to the Clouds ” through the Quebrada del Toro to San Antonio de los Cobres; then the Salinas Grandes of Jujuy; and then on the way back, the downhill trip of Lipan brings you to the village of Purmamarca at the base of the well known ” Seven Colour Hill “.
Overnight El Manantial del Silencio.
Day 9 Purmamarca & Quebrada de Humahuaca
The colours change as you drive along this magnificent valley. Enjoy the beauty of this area visiting the small villages of in Tilcara, famous for its huge pucara (stronghold), built on a hill in the middle of the valley and Humahuaca.Transfer back to Salta. Overnight Hotel Salta.
Day 10 Salta / Bariloche
Transfer from the hotel to Salta airport for a flight to Bariloche via Buenos Aires.
Transfer on arrival to the Hotel Edelweiss in San Carlos de Bariloche for five nights.
Day 11 Bariloche
Morning half day tour to see some of the most attractive scenery in Argentina. Visit the Llao Llao peninsula between Lago Moreno and Nahuel Huapi, and the beautiful Lopez Bay with views of Catedral, Lopez and Otto Mountains.
Day 12 Bariloche
A full day tour around the lakes and rivers. Drive west out of Bariloche, along the Rio Limay towards the Valle Encantado, an area of unusual rock formations. Continue to Confluencia, where the Rio Limay and Rio Traful meet. Drive East through valleys, hills, rivers and forests of Coihues. Carry on past Lake Traful to Villa La Angostura returning to Bariloche.
Day 13 Bariloche
Transfer to the pier for a boat trip along Lake Nahuel Huapi to Puerto Blest. Continue by land to Puerto Alegre for a further cruise on Laguna Frias towards the Chilean border. This is an area similar to the Norwegian Fjords. Before returning to Bariloche a visit will be made to the Cascada los Cantaros a beautiful area of waterfalls.

Day 15 Bariloche / Buenos Aires
Transfer from the hotel to the airport for a flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival transfer to Hotel de las Americas for three nights.
Day 16 Buenos Aires
Half day city tour of Buenos Aires. You will see the beautiful parks and gardens of Palermo, the charming old city quarter of San Telmo, the colourful district of La Boca, the bustling banking and business centre of town and the historic Government House, Congress Building and Recoleta Cemetery. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 17 Buenos Aires
Full day at leisure to enjoy this city at your own pace. Dinner & Tango evening! Argentina is known for its passions, good food and Tango. Enjoy dinner at one of the leading Tango salons in the city, where a selection of dishes from fine Argentine beef, farm fed chicken, to choices of pastas will be served. After dinner the show begins – world-class performers will grace the stage and mesmerise the public with their intricate dance steps.
Day 18 Buenos Aires
Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
