Bolivia – Highlights : 12 days

Day 1

Arrival transfer from La Paz Airport to Hotel Inca Utama in Huatajata for overnight. Enjoy the Andean Eco Village – this cultural experience includes the Altiplano Museum, the Native Chapel and a botanical garden. See the artisans and fishing villages, the mud igloos and floating islands of the Uru Chipayas. Spend some time at the Kallawaya Natural Spa where ancient remedies and treatments are still used today to alleviate stress and promote well-being. Night visit to Alajpacha, a unique native observatory.

Day 2

Embark on a hydrofoil cruise to Copacabana. Continue to Moon Island to visit the IƱak Uyu (Sun Virgins Temple). Cruise to Sun Island and visit the Pilcocaina or Sun Temple which is one of the most important religious sites of the Inca Empire. Enjoy a llama trek from this point to the eco-friendly Posada del Inca Lodge for overnight.

Day 3

Visit the Inca Staircase & Sacred Fountain and taste the sacred water believed to grant eternal youth and happiness. Lunch at Uma Kollu archeological restaurant and then visit a small handicraft market. Hydrofoil cruise to Huatajata and bus transfer to La Paz. Two nights at Hotel Residencial Rosario.

Day 4

Morning tour to Tiwanaku Ruins. Tiwanaku was once considered to be the Cradle of the American Civilisations. See the Sun Gate, the monoliths, the temples of Kalasasaya and Kontiki and the Akapana artificial pyramid. In the afternoon there is a sightseeing tour of La Paz including the Indian Market, Tiwanaku Museum, the Witch Doctor’s Market, and Moon Valley.

Day 5

After breakfast transfer to the airport for the flight to Sucre, considered the most beautiful city in Bolivia. City tour of Sucre including the Cathedral, La Recoleta, House of Liberty (where Simon Bolivar signed the Declaration of Independence), and the University Museum. Overnight Hostal de su Merced.

Day 6

Transfer from Sucre to Potosi, a famous colonial city and UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit the town and the silver mines. Overnight Hostal Colonial.

Day 7

Transfer by bus from Potosi to Uyani. Rest of day at leisure. Overnight Hotel Los Jardines de Uyuni.

Day 8

An early start to visit Colchani on the shores of the Salt Lake. Take a trip across the Salt Lake to the island of Lomo de Pescado. After lunch, drive back to Potosi and visit the towns of Chaquilla and Tika Tika en route. Stop at the town of Tahua and visit the mummies of Coquesa. Overnight Hostal Colonial, Potosi.

Day 9

Transfer from Potosi to the airport at Sucre for the flight to Santa Cruz. Arrival transfer from Santa Cruz Airport to the Hotel Felimar for overnight.

Day 10

After breakfast, head west towards Amboro National Park and Los Volcanes. Upon arrival enjoy a short (4km) hike along the entrance road within the forest. In the afternoon, hike the “Loop” trail. Overnight Refugio Volcanes.

Day 11

Day at leisure to enjoy your surroundings.

Day 12

Transfer from Refugio Volcanes to Santa Cruz Airport for your flight to La Paz. Transfer to your international flight.
