Toronto and New England : 17 days
Day 1
Depart London for Toronto. On arrival transfer to the Fairmont Hotel for three nights.
Days 2 – 3
At leisure in Toronto. Take an optional excursion to the awesome Niagara Falls, one of the most spectacular waterfalls on the continent. Enjoy a cruise on the famous Maid of the Mist, take a helicopter tour or walk along the banks of the river. Visit the quaint town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Plan a trip to the top of the CN Tower and enjoy an evening at the theatre.
Day 4
Depart by Greyhound bus for Boston. Enjoy the New England countryside en route. Stops are made in Buffalo, Syracuse and Albany. On arrival in Boston make your way to the Lenox Hotel for three nights.
Days 5 – 6
At leisure. Explore the Freedom Trail, ride the Swanboats, shop at Quincy Market and enjoy a dinner cruise on Boston Harbour. Take a trip to Cambridge or take a whale watch cruise from the New England Aquarium. There is an abundance of museums, art galleries and shops to visit.
Day 7
Pick up your rental car and drive to Salem (16 miles, approximately 30 minutes). Visit this small town famous for witchcraft, and then continue to Deerfield (110 miles, approximately 2 hours). Deerfield’s mile long Main Street with its 18th and 19th century buildings provides a picture of a wealthy early American farming community. Overnight Deerfield Inn.
Day 8
Drive to Williamstown (40 miles, approximately 1 hour). This beautiful colonial village is nestled in the northwest corner of Massachusetts where the Mohawk Trail enters the Berkshires. The green rolling hills of the Berkshires are a lovely setting for the buildings of Williams College as well as for the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute and the distinguished summer theatre festival.

Day 9
Drive to Stockbridge (40 miles, approximately 1 hour). Stockbridge has a history that is unique amongst most New England Towns. In the early 18th century it was founded as an Indian Mission, but the number of Native Americans steadily dwindled as the white population increased. The present day population includes many artists and writers who have been drawn to the area by its natural beauty. The grace and charm of this small town are evident as you stroll along Main Street where inviting shops and buildings give way to white mansion-like clapboard dwellings surrounded by large landscaped lawns and gardens. Two nights at the Red Lion Inn.
Day 10
At leisure. Enjoy some of the many attractions of the area such as the Norman Rockwell Museum and Hancock Shaker Village.
Day 11
Drive to Sturbridge (75 miles, approximately 1 hr 30 minutes). Visit Old Sturbridge Village – a living history museum that recreates a typical farm village between 1790 and 1840. Overnight Publick House Historic Inn.
Day 12
Drive to Chatham on Cape Cod (135 miles, approximately 2 hrs 15 minutes). 5 nights at the Bradford Inn.
Cape Cod’s changing seasons offer different views of the village. All year round you can stroll up and down Main Street, exploring the shops and galleries. During the summer, you’ll find that baseball, band concerts and lobster roll suppers command the centre spotlight. In the quieter shoulder seasons, Chatham offers festivals and celebrations for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.
Days 13 – 16
At leisure.
Day 17
Drive to Plymouth (50 miles, approx 1 hour). Visit Plimoth Plantation – a recreation of the Pilgrims Village as it was in 1627. Continue to Boston (40 miles, approx 1 hour), return your rental car and check in for your return flight to London.
