About Us

about-us-pam

The Unpackaged Travel Company is a boutique travel business run by owner Pam Roper.  Almost all business is from repeat clients and recommendation: many clients have become friends over the years and when we meet to discuss a holiday, we have to catch up with each other first!  We pride ourselves on our personal service, and putting together the trip you really want.  We have travelled extensively, love to travel, and can offer first hand advice.  We would love to meet you, so if you live in the Somerset area or are visiting Wells, please come and see us.

Planning

about-us-planning

Call or email with a rough idea of where you would like to go.  We can then meet if you are nearby and discuss the trip over a cup of coffee, or we can chat on the phone. We will then prepare a suggested itinerary which can be tweaked as much as you like.  Your entire holiday is designed around your requirements, and this includes budget, transport, places to see, visiting friends and family, accommodation, experiences and activities. All reservations will then be made, and a final itinerary prepared.

Special Occasions

We love arranging trips for special occasions. From honeymoons, silver weddings and ‘significant’ birthdays to longer trips to celebrate retirement, you can be sure your trip will be unique.

Special Interest Groups

We currently arrange group travel for several organisations, and trips are wonderfully diverse from the Ancient Archaeology of the Orkney Isles, the Geology of the NW USA, the Architecture of Prague, Galleries and Museums of the Baltic States, to the Wildlife of Madhya Pradesh, India.
If you and your friends would like your own bespoke group tour, please get in touch. We would be very happy to help.

Specialist Wildlife Tours

about-us-wildlife-tours-simon-kingWe are delighted to be working with Simon King Wildlife, and we arrange small group tours which he personally accompanies.  Currently being planned for 2016 and 2017 are trips to India, Scotland and Africa

Accommodation

We prefer to use lovely individual properties rather than large chain hotels.  This may be a five star boutique hotel or a small homestay; as long as guests are warmly welcomed and looked after this is fine by us!  Options range from small resort hotels to houseboats, homestays, wildlife lodges, converted palaces and posh tents!

Ground handlers

Before departure you will be given full contact details of our local ground handlers. We have personally met our carefully chosen ground handlers in almost every country, and we know you will be well looked after.  They are there to meet you at the airport on arrival, take you to your accommodation and answer any queries you may have 24/7.
